Up for Premium Auctions category is the Lime Green (N8V9 – P29/1974) over Brown leather interior, 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 (G-Series). Called as the “G-model” or “911`s savior”, this generation of 911s was produced starting from 1973 till 1989, holding the record of the longest production line to-date. 1984 marks the inaugural model year for the Carrera being built with a 3.2-liter engine. Despite being called `temperamental` especially when it comes to their handling, having a character of its own and providing a raw driving experience, making the driver feel alive that cannot be found in other cars when compared ensured the model needed to continue; the decision was taken back then by CEO Peter Schutz. This 911 Carrera is powered by a naturally aspirated and air cooled 3.2-liter (M930/21) flat 6-cylinder engine. Power is sent to the rear wheels via 5-speed 915 (GL-15) transmission. Acquired by the current owner in July 2020 coming as US spec; the car was brought into the UAE from Japan; being sold through auction. This Porsche 911 came with the Hellbronz Metallic color when it was acquired (photo is shared in the Others section), was stripped to bare metal, sandblasted and painted in Lime Green (which is G-series official color) by the owner. The interior which is original in Brown leather came with minimal wear which can be considered age appropriate, only the ceiling upholstery was changed.

For the exterior, the seller states that the car came with the factory option whale tail spoiler which is intact however slight color fading is visible on it, factory fog lights and 15inch Black painted Fuch wheels which are stock wearing Porsche center caps, wrapped around with 2020 Arroyo tires. As the car was stripped to bare metal, the seller did not witness any evidence of rust damage besides a few surface ones which were cleaned off. The overall paint is described to be in excellent condition, no dents or scratches are present. Both the driver and passenger side is complemented with Black “Carrera” stripes which were added by the current owner.

The Brown leather interior is witnessed to be in good condition showing minimal signs of usage, the car still comes with the original carpets. The black center console with matching steering wheel is accented by a Green painted dashboard. Currently the car shows a little over 51,000 miles but as per the seller, he cannot confirm the accuracy of the display due to not having prior historical data about the vehicle. All the display units are functioning. The door covers are matching the Brown leather upholstery of the seats. It is mentioned that only the ceiling upholstery was fixed by the current owner. The car carries an aftermarket AM/FM stereo and the original AC unit has been replaced by the current owner (all the parts are kept by him) and the car has been prepared for an electrical base installation but as of the moment the car does not have any AC. Also due to a faulty electrical motor, the Sunroof is currently not functional in this Porsche 911. The power windows are said to be in working condition.

One of the major points of success for the 3.2-liter engine was having the `Bosch Motronic` feature which made the car reliable with increased usability. While this Carrera retains the 3.2-liter M930/21 flat-six that produces 207HP, it is not matching numbers and as per the seller the car came with this engine when he purchased it which is still the same model engine. The owner initiated the restoration work for the engine immediately and it was carried out in Al Hai Motors workshop under his full supervision which lasted approximately 5 months. During this time, it is said that all the work which has been carried out is according to the official Porsche diagram. All the parts installed have been supplied as original Porsche parts (photographs have been shared under the Others section of the gallery).

The owner lists the extensive work (renewal/replacement) which has been performed on this car as:

⁂ Stripped to bare metal and sandblasted and repainted

⁂ All engine consumables have been re-done, such as the clutch, the flywheel and pressure plate (all original Porsche parts)

Although coming from the same lineage, the 3.2-liter engine was almost completely different from the predecessor 911SC which led people to compare them; the 911SC was fast, but Carrera is like a bullet. Reaching from 0 to 60mph in just 5.7 seconds, a number which makes more sense when you consider the 911 weighed only 1,210 kg. Current owner spent time, money and effort on this car but he is well aware that it comes with certain faults which can be found in any car that is driven and used. He mentions that the misfiring can be witnessed in the car and some oil leakage is present. With its existing specifications and overall good appearance, this first-year Carrera 3.2 is now waiting for her new owner; whether to enjoy it as is or going through changes if any is desired.
